Mysore Chamundi Hill

Mysore Chamundeshwari Temple in Chamundi Hills.

Come let us pray to the Goddess Chamundeshwari Devi at Mysore’s Chamundi hills and return.

Mysore is one of the world’s heritage cities of the world. The cultural city Mysore is located in India’s south Karnataka. Also, there is belief and history that all the shaktidevatas of the earth have settled here. In Indian history, at temples, the agrapooja (main prayer) is being conducted by the localities. 200 years old Chamundeshwari Temple of Mysore is one of them. Located above 1857 feet from sea level, she is the adorable deity of Mysore monarchs. The shakti devatha of 5½ crore people of Karnataka is also Chamundeshwari as well. Even today on the 9th day of Navaratri that is Vijaya Dashami, the rudimentary god from the temple’s garbhagudi will be placed on Elephant Ambari and taken to the procession. And through this, Navaratri will be celebrated throughout Karnataka. Lakhs of people witness this.

Till today Mysore royal family start any functions only after performing their pooja at Mysore’s Chamundeshwari Temple. Likewise 8 lakh Hindus out of 10 lakh people of Mysore visit the Chamundeshwari temple before any functions at their home. Be it the house-warming function, Wedding ceremony or baby naming ceremony, the first invitation card will be dedicated to the goddess Chamundeshwari of Chamundi Hill and then only they start inviting friends and relatives.

There is a differential relationship between Mysore localities and Chamundi Hill. Every citizen, politician, Industrialist, or film star of Mysore will not forget to take the blessings of Chamundeshwari on their birthday. They’ll do all their tasks only after the darshan of the Goddess.

Similarly with one or the other reasons, they visit Chamundi hills once every fifteen days. It may be because of the weekend, holidays, or spending time with friends, trekking. Or just for a morning walk. Like this, they visit Chamundi Hill with one or another pretense.

Chamundi Hills’ forest and natural environment attract Mysore’s people like a magnet. When cinema, shopping or malls get boring people to choose Chamundi hill. Because the beautiful tourist spot where you can spend at least 12 hours is Mysoreans’ Chamundi hill. Pack some snacks, cool drinks or light food and take the relatives who arrived at your home to Chamundi Hill. And it will remain as a best memorial short trip.

Start Mysore one day trip with Chamundi Hill.

This is a favorite place not only for Mysore public but also for the tourists. Hence every travel agent includes Chamundi Hill in his one-day tour package. He would like to have a good start to the tour from here only. A lot of tourists from North India vow to provide saree to the idol of Chamundeshwari in garbhagudi when they come to Chamundi Hill. So the endowment department of Karnataka has provided the opportunity for this. They fulfill their vow by filling out the application form as per the department’s order. Also for the pilgrims arriving here, anna dasoha is also arranged. Daily from 12 pm to 3 pm lakhs of pilgrims and tourists receive the goddess Chamundeshwari’s prasadam. Those who are interested can provide rice, grams, jaggery, sugar, and other things to Dasoha Bhavan via vow. There are two ways to enter the temple. One is free entry and another one is a special entry of Rs.100/- to have the darshan. 2 days a week that is Tuesday and Friday locals visit the temple in large numbers. If you take a special entry ticket on those days, there won’t be a lack of time.
